Goa Carnival is a traditional Mardi Gras celebration. Although essentially a Christian festival that marks the last chance for feasting and merriment before Lent, the event in Goa blends trends and beliefs from all faiths and cultures creating a wonderful feeling of community. Visitors during the three-day event can expect a warm welcome as well as parades, live music, dancers, street entertainers, cultural performances and religious services.
Goa Carnival is the most famous festival in the state and has been celebrated since the 18th century. Huge colourful parades take over the state's cities with bands, floats and dances, while the evenings mean serious partying wherever you are.
