Puravankara presents, Motley's - Ismat Apa Ke Naam. In support of India Foundation for the Arts.
Cast: Naseeruddin Shah, Ratna Pathak shah & Heeba Shah. In association with TATA.
Ismat Apa Ke Naam is a series of three short stories by the famous Urdu writer Ismat Khanum Chughtai (1915-1991) Mughal Bacche, Chhui Muee and Gharwali narrated with lan and gusto by the trio Naseeruddin Shah, Ratna Pathak and Heeba Shah. The beauty of the entire experience lies not just in the manner in which the stories are narrated by the actors but the sheer luminosity, irony and poignancy of the stories themselves. Ismat Apa ke Naam is a celebration of a writer whose work is never dated, a reminder of the still unexplored dramatic possibilities of Indian fiction, and yet another chance to witness the work of an actor-director who keeps seeking ways to reinvent the magic of theatre.
Chancery Pavilion has come in as the hospitality sponsor, Kingfisher Airlines as the travel sponsor and Cafe Coffee Day as the ground sponsor. While corporate houses have come forward to support the show, IFA will raise funds for its grant-making by selling donor passes.
